Thinking about staying here for a couple of weeks ( end of Aug. 1st week of Sept.) to visit friends and family. Park is about an hour west of Phoenix off of I10. Probably not the best time to be in Arizona but we are combining it with our trip to Sturgis and Yellowstone.

I have read all the reviews both on RVPark Reviews and at the Good Sam campground site. What I am looking for is some real world comments from people that may have stayed here recently. All reviews mention a chicken farm that has been started last couple of years. Does anyone know if it is really as bad as people are saying or just one of many comments. This may or may not be a deal breaker since I can always have people I know let me know about the smell, if any. Cant get their comments on the park as the do not RV.

Thanks in advance for any and all comments

Looking at Google Maps I see the chicken farm is less than a mile due west of the RV park. The wind usually blows from the west. I wouldn't stay there especially in August (I don't like camping on the sun, lol).

Where do your friends/family live? The Phoenix area is huge. Perhaps we can recommend another suitable place.

Yes... it will be hot... like 110 deg!! For visiting others sometimes you have no choice.

If this is not the best choice, do you have any recommendations for a two week stay? I wouldn't mind being a little closer to Phoenix but probably would not want to go any further west. I have looked at White Tank Regional, but would prefer to have full hook-ups.

Friends are in Goodyear and family is in Tonopah. Fortunately, I have not yet made reservations, so I am still looking. Will look into Leaf Verdi rv park. and some of the others on RVPark Reviews.

If an hour away is ok, i would go north of Phoenix.

Leaf looks nice but have not been there yet. Will look in a month and am planning on next spring.

Spent a winter at Leaf Verde. Nice place and only a short drive to Goodyear.

I wouldn't want to be within 5 miles of a chicken farm. I can handle most barnyard smells but chicken farms and hog farms test my limits. That said, Leaf did have a stockyard smell occasionally when the wind was right, but it wasn't bad.

Destiny RV might be an option for you. Looks like it has some shade trees that you could request. You won't have difficulty getting a site at that time of year.

Also look at Cotton Lane and Leaf Verde. Good luck!
