Does it really make any difference whether to use 5/8 or 1/2 " for the hose size to the FW?

Thank"s

That's a gross mis-statement. I don't believe I've ever seen anything less than a 3/4" water line. Then they install either a 1/2" or 3/4" hose bib, neither of which has a 100% port (orifice is less than nominal size). But the more limiting factors are pressure and the pipe size in the rig. Volume is based on pressure and if you diminish the pressure, the volume follows. Therefore, on a campers in most parks, I don't see how a 1/8" difference in hose size will be noticeable under 99% of circumstances.

Yes, size matters.....

Iโ€™ve sat through many classes on managing water losses itโ€™s amazing the difference. I keep two 25โ€™ 5/8โ€ hoses, rarely need to connect the two.

Actually it does. Dont believe it, connect each one and test yourself. Half inch would be OK IF you use only faucet at a time. Turn on two, or flush a toilet and watch the flow drop pike a rock. 5/8 might a bit harder to coil up, but you will get better flow.

You are still going down from 5/8" hose to 1/2" pex so there's no difference in volume. the 1/2" pex can only support so much volume. If you hooked a 2" hose to the rig, same affect. The 1/2" pex is only going to allow so much water through.

I doubt you would notice the difference between sizes, unless you had a CG with very low pressure. One thing you can notice, is the quality of the hose and fittings, no matter which diameter hose.

I have both sizes in different lengths and don't notice any difference.

There will be a minor increase in flow rate with the bigger hose but since it is throttled inside the RV the effect is not significant. But be sure to use white or blue potable water hose.

Just make sure it is a white or blue hose made for drinking water, not the green hose used at home.
