Baggage Door Latches

Just curious if anyone has tried to retrofit baggage door latches (slam latches) on a compartment door that was outfitted originally with the old CH751 barrel locks.

I've noticed some of the larger Class A's and fivers have slam latches instead of barrel locks and they're much nicer. Anyone done this?

I think it can be done but the slam latch are so expensive.

So apparently it can be done:

and Global Link makes a slam latch mounting plate for thin baggage doors up to 1-1/4":

So... who wants to go first? :@

The thickness of the doors that use the slam latches is thicker than the doors with a 751 lock. They can't be interchanged unless you can find a slam latch that works with your size door.

RV locks and more. You just change out the cylinder. They can match your other keys if needed,

I've been considering it too. Hopefully someone will chime in.
