GP 2000w sine

Picked up one for a friend, been using same one for 5 yrs been very happy with it. Usually advertised in the $800's. My guess is they will discontinue due to newer models out? Price dropped to 639, same as newer model 2k unit. Is this one better? don't know, just thought I'd throw it out there.

I would go with the newer model as the Input Voltage is 10.5-16.5 VDC. The older model is 10.5-15 VDC only. If using solar and you charge your batteries up to 14.8 VDC and have a battery temperature sensor you will often go over 15VDC and this will cause the older inverter to shut down.

Although you statement is true there is an easy workaround for the high voltage probem. Just run a 12 volt load to drop voltage or kill charging until the inverter is powered up.

Yes, I have 700w solar and 445ah batteries so no big deal for me to unplug charger and put fridge on gas and plug into inverter. All auto switching would be nice but only takes me a minute to set up and Im good for trip.

I have GoPower 2000w sine wave. $639 is a great price.

I prefer my charging and transfer switch to be separate.

Just a suggestion, for RV use, you might want to get one with a built-in battery charger....
