I had to think a bit to place you, I believe that was the south entrance to the Petrified Forest in Arizona. We're heading on out on July 11,2018 from southern California. Don't wait too long to go it get cold up there rather quickly.

GpnAZ Glad to hear from you and thanks for following along. I enjoyed your TR on Alaska also places we didn't go to on our first trip. On our next trip I'm hoping to get some photos of the northern lights, thanks again.

Thanks for the Kennecott Tour. This was a BIG operation. Largest Copper find on the planet. On the McCarthy road we never got all the way in to the mill, but did camp in a gravel pit near the largest wooden train trestle. Fewer insects. The McCarthy road is graded mostly right over the old railroad right of way that hauled out the concentrate.
