been a member of RV.Net for quite some time and have a problem with inserting photos in my posts.

i have a Dropbox account that i use to share photos with friends and family. I've tried using the share link of those photos on RV.NET but it doesn't work. any other Dropbox users have the same problem or can set me straight?

The OP is talking about posting a LINK to his pics, not posting the pics themselves. For a couple of pics the latter works really well but if it's a series of many pics a link works better.

the above is the photo on photo sharing site DropBox using the Image icon. as you can see it does not show up.

this is the DropBox link using the Link icon.

before the company hosting my domain went belly up I could post images using the URL link to that photo. wondering why the URL link to the same photo at DropBox won't work using this forums Image icon.

I right-clicked on your picture, grabbed the 'Copy image address' and posted that. I use the Chrome browser. It's a heck of a lot longer url, but it works.

Supposedly, DropBox no longer supports direct 'hotlinking' of images in webpages.

However, you can alter the URL of your image as follows:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/e2imnf54p1w1yqk/2016-03-26%2017.09.48.jpg?dl=0

To this:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/e2imnf54p1w1yqk/2016-03-26%2017.09.48.jpg?raw=1

Then just click the 'Image' icon with this URL:

Which will result in this when posted in the forums:

BTW, you can change the dl=0 extension to either raw=1 or dl=1. Both should work. I often change the '0' to '1' using my DropBox Enterprise account at work, so files such as PDFs or MP4 just downloads when clicked. And doesn't open in DropBox webpage.
