Weigh scales - do I need to stop?

I've found this question asked a number of times all over the web, but the answers are usually dated and vague.

I live in Manitoba, Canada and will be traveling to Mesa Arizona on a trip with my dad to drop off his camper.

I drive a 2015 F350 CCLB SRW (GVWR 11,500) and will be towing a 2008 Keystone Raptor 3712 (GVWR 15,500). I recently got my class 3 license in order to be legal for the trip as it's required for trailers above 10,000lbs GVWR up here.

I will be traveling through ND, SD, NE, IA, KS, OK, TX, NM and AZ.

I've towed a fair bit across the USA but have never done so with such a large trailer.

Do I need to stop at any weigh scales along the way? If so, what should I expect when stopping?

Hmmm, now there is an idea.

I've done that numerous times. Enough that it annoys the wife. Especially when I get out, and weigh unhooked, hooked but no bars and fully hooked up.

But never when they are open. Also won't if I see a commercial truck using it.

Oregon is a great place to get a quick read on your current weights. They have numerous scales that are unattended and left on so that the loggers can check their weights. They are great tools for monitoring how much you've squirreled away and now need to thin out.

I thought we'd be stopping for sure. This greatly simplifies things!

Thank you for the quick replies!

At one time the signs could have been interpreted in a way that anyone towing believed they needed to stop. In recent years, I believe that the signage is better written.

LOL......
Stopped ONCE
Officer at window and his cohorts standing behind him all looked at me like a tree full of owls

Then he leaned out the window and growled
"GIT---go on GIT!"

I did. :B

Weigh stations in the U.S. are for commercial vehicles.

No need to stop in the US, unless the sign specifies pickups. I have seen a sign in Iowa that stated "All Trucks, Buses, and Pickups Must Weigh", but that is the only one I've ever seen. The trucks referred to on the signage are commercial trucks. I have no idea about Canada.
