I go back and forth a lot. My 2001 7.3 does pretty ok at pulling my trailer, so for now I think I’m going to just keep fixing it. Maybe in 5 years or so I will buy a 7.3 gas rig.

Believe me, I think about doing a trade back to diesel often.....But then I see 70 cent difference in diesel over gas and only 2mpg difference in towing MPG and about $20,000 to trade currently......If the stock market gets back to where it was, I just might jump next year....

I did the opposite, i went from a 2003 cummins to a new 2017 ram 2500 6.4L, couldnt stand the screaming up hills pulling my trailer so after a year traded it back in on a new 2017 2500 cummins. Its funny, I was so used to my 03 cummins 6speed that the first time i pulled with that hemi it scared the **** out of me. pulling a steep grade for the first time with my trailer and that thing down shifted probably into second and about 4500 rpms, i wasnt ready for that lol. pulled a few more times and that was enough.

Regrets...I have Few...but too few to mention...
Do I miss my diesel...yes, Everytime I'm towing and meet a relatively big hill. But other than that, I'm loving this truck. Especially when I hear the issues my friends are having with newer diesels.
Only have 40k miles on it so far. We shall see....

I had a good laugh at the reasons why he went from a diesel to a gasser. Especially the "simple" thing as if today's gas engines with lifters, VVT, and so on are as "simple" as they were when his 2006 was new.

Nice Mako restoration...

BTW... The new trucks rides better than your old truck because of the coil suspension on all fours and has nothing to do with the engines.
