Looking to replace our beloved but aging out 2006 Vue. New vehicle not only needs to be used as Toad but must be able to tow about 2000lbs occasionally.

Anyone using an Edge as a Toad and how happy are you with it? Looks like it might do what we need. Any cons from users? Thanks

Our Edge Sport (2.7 Turbo V6) requires a battery disconnect. Installed one from Roadmaster that activates when we plug into the 7-pin on the MH. Tows well and is capable of towing 2000 pounds, though we do not tow with it.

Just be sure to go with a V6 model for flat-towing. Either turbo on not.

The 4-cylinder (which is also turbo) can't be flat-towed. It's a great driving car, and yes, it can tow 2,000 pounds just fine..

We towed two different Edges and were very pleased with them. Once we added a charging line it was even better.

Be careful which one you choose. Not all models are towable. They can be battery hungry too with all the bells and whistles. I suggest a good charge line.

2012 FWD Limited.

Had to replace the transmission last year. Don't know if it was towing related.
