Nice truck. Enjoy.

As an aside, I built a comparably equipped 2019, and the price was within a couple thousand.

Quality problems to have. Selecting between all the great choices.

we love our 1500, tow vehicle and everday driver and carries a decent load
coils prings? so what, it all depends on how stiff they are, leaf springs can be made to ride well too.
ours is a hemi 8 speed, awesome combo
love the shft knob, they have done that years ago on all automatics

Wanted another Silverado but got a great deal on a Ram 1500. Glad I did, happy with it.

We just bought a 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 Crew Cab Bighorn V8 5.7L Hemi with 13,000 miles on it. We love it, and it is a huge upgrade from what we already have. Hubby wanted a new truck, we don't tow a trailer anymore and his knee has been bothering him and wanted to get out of standard transmission. We have a 2001 Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4X4 V8 auto (mine), and his other truck is a 2004.5 2500 Club Cab 4x4 Cummins 6 speed. It is amazing how much technology has been added to these trucks in 14 years.

Hubby is having trouble remembering not to reach for the shifter but other than that there are zero issues with our new truck. The transmission dial is very strange. The Hemi and transmission work so well together it's a treat to take a longer drive. I was surprised when I went to make a pass on a two lane highway and that truck shot out in front of me so fast I was startled at the speed of it. There is no need to hit the gas peddle hard, because that truck is gonna move fast. Comfort is amazing as well.

What kind of gas mileage does it get? Debating on what rear end ratio to get.will the air suspension level out with about 1000 pounds of tongue weight.

I custom ordered a 19 Laramie and even getting it exactly the way I wanted it was 11k off sticker. Lots of good deals out there on Rams. Ford is a great truck but they are just to proud of them for me. Usually in the 4-5k off sticker and they are usually higher.
Two things I wish Ram would add is the trailer aid systems and the massaging seats. They are nice.

Current F150s have a higher payload than some of their competition because of the aluminum bodies. They lightened up the trucks with the aluminum by 600 lbs or so which directly related to the higher payloads. An often overlooked advantage to lightening up the trucks.

NOT true. Previous years F150 models, without the aluminum, still had better payloads than the competition. I know beci spent 2 years shopping all the 1/2 ton brands. My 2014 F150 Ecoboost SCREW with Max Tow package but not the HD Payload package, has a payload of 1828lbs.
I never saw a used crew cab 1/2 ton from any other brand with that kind of payload.
