NOT what I'd call a seaworthy Land Yacht!

For the life of me I can't see how this happened. Photoshopped?

What needs to be done to get that land yacht beached?
Low tide
Dig out trailer
Jack up trailer
Dig out truck
More than one tow truck

Thinking that just pulling the truck is going to cause bent metal?

Just curious.

Even with my CRV and Jeep I stayed near the high tide area.

Yeah, I would like to see the video of how they get those things out.

Around here people drive on the ice in the winter and drop part of the truck though....Fairly often they drop the whole thing through.

They have people who specialize in getting them out. Make a dammed good living too they do. Costs a ton of money to get your truck out of the lake. Insurance won't pay for it either. Your bankrupt after that happens.

What is it about that rig that screams โ€œOklahoma touristโ€ to you. I see no signs of origin at all. I donโ€™t recognize the flag heโ€™s flying, but it ainโ€™t OU or OSU. Looks like the truck has a front tag, and OK doesnโ€™t do front tags.

On second look I think the flag is on the ATV.......whatever

I think the chances are better itโ€™s some SoCal knucklehead. Okies have better sense than that.

See it often at Oceano Dunes near Pismo Beach, California.

Been going on for years and years at Pismo/Oceano.

OP: probably an Oklahoma tourist who wanted to park on the beach,
Nice hard sand at LOW tide - or make a nice turn on the "hard" sand.
Warnings are posted.

Also - probably didn't want to pay the dune "Vultures" for a tow.

Unfortunately - some lessons are learned the hard way.

It looks worse from the curb side angle. Was it Ross Perot that said a giant sucking sound. That's what it's going to take to get that out of there.
I would unhook and at least save the truck if possible.

Pismo beach or Oceano State Vehicle Recreation Area has 999 available reservations per day and during the summer they are sold out. We were over there a couple times this summer and a set up like the one pictured accounts for about 500 of the campers over there. While this does happen it is extremely, extremely rare. On a typical weekend 800 trucks and trailers and MH pull in and out and down the 7 miles of beach with no catastrophes.

Not sure how he got in that position but a guess would be that he tried to back the trailer towards the water to get turned around and backed to far. Lots of campers camp right down on the high tide line making it difficult for people to drive up and down the beach and almost impossible to get turned around.

When the beach is flat, the tide can really cover a lot of beach in a hurry.
