Anybody driven Nevada 225 and 278 lately?

I need to head to Ridgecrest soon for a memorial service. Driving down from Boise, ID. Nevada 225 and 278 look like they might have more interesting scenery than 95. Are the roads decent? Any hazards I need to know about? (Besides the heat - I know it's hotter than blazes.)

I'm not towing anything this trip. Just bombing down and commandeering floor space in a friend's house. (Or a hotel room if they are too full.)

Thanks. I think I'll save these roads for the drive home, when I can poke a bit. I'll take 95 / 395 down - it's boring, but fast.
