Heading up north for Cranberry Tour October 5th.
Leaving Cedar Rapids, IA in the am and will be staying in Black River Falls, WI friday night. Not in a big hurry.
Looking for good/best route (car only), and things not to miss seeing
or great places for food.
Plan to cross Old Miss at La Crosse if on a good route.
Thanks for the input.

I was just curious. I lived for a while in Cedar Rapids as a kid - actually on Hwy 150 outside of Hiawatha (Center Pt Rd). And we often drove north to Minnesota to visit relatives.

Later living in Chicago I often drove the Chicago to Mpls route. If I had time the hills and rivers of SW Wisconsin were more interesting than the freeway.

I would normally tell you to go to Wazeka, WI and take highway 131 north along the Kickapoo River. However, we have had A LOT of major flooding in the last 3 weeks and most of the towns along the Kickapoo got almost destroyed. Avoid the Kickapoo River valley.

As a result, I would go to Prairie du Chein, hit US 35 north toHighway B (just north of Ferryville), take B to the right until you get to WI 27 north, that will take you to I90 E a couple of miles to I94 W and arrive in Warrens.

The Cranberry Festival hasd one of the largest craft-flee markets in the area. there are a couple of jewelry makers that have some beautiful work.
Thanks for the update on the Kickapoo River.
Not planning to attend the Cranberry Festival but plan to go to Weatherby's Cranberry Farm for their tour and wade in the cranberry bogg.
