TST 507 Repeater Installation Location

For folks that have the TST 507 repeater:

I just received my TST507 repeater because I was losing sensor signals. You folks that are using the repeater, where did you place it? Is it better to have it closer to the sensors or closer to the display?

I was thinking of placing it in my 5ver's basement, but was concerned that it may not receive/send signals as well. Don't want to mount it outside the rig if I don't have to.

What have you guys done?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

I've decided that the repeater is going on the back wall of the front basement compartment....and I can run the wires easily to the battery.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Safe travels,

I just use whatever grease I have handy and it's not been an issue for the last 5 years. Maybe some day...

I'd recommend not using any petroleum product. Not good for some of them. A silicon grease is a better choice unless you know the O-ring is designed for hydrocarbon service.

I find that when replacing the batteries, the rubber seals break every time. Make sure you have replacements handy.

Front storage compartment, above the door. I tapped into wires at a light there.
That location is about half way between the sensors and the monitor.

Connected to the battery shutoff. makes a nice on/off indicator.

I have the EeZTire TPMS and have not lost a signal since I put the repeater in...well worth it.

you can play photohunt with all my mods 🙂

Thanks for the suggestions folks. I will look into all of them. I already bought some wire and small battery clamps.

Although new, I also wondered about the batteries....I bought 4 new ones.

I have a different brand-Pressure Pro- and the repeater has a 12 volt plug on the end of the cord. I plugged it in to the 12 volt outlet in the bedroom and it works fine.

On refer access grate, using 12v power from inside. Seemed a good place to get power, and near transmitters.

Amazing how good, fresh batteries make those things work a whole lot better!
