Pulling Vehicle for Durango 1500 30' 5th Wheel

We have a 2016 Durango 1500 30 ft. 5th wheel when loaded it weighs 11,200 lbs. We are currently pulling it with a 2010 F-250 SD 6.4 diesel. Having pulled a heavier (4000 lbs. more) 2006 5th wheel this same truck has effortlessly pulled both units through the mountains of the west. We are contemplating trading trucks and Ford says their F-150 with the new 3.5 is capable of pulling 13,500 lbs. We have our doubts as to the safety and stability of the F-150 vs the F-250 SD pulling and handling the 5th wheel safely. Has anyone had experience pulling the newer lighter (less than 12,000 lbs.) 5th wheels with the F-150. Most haulers and people we talk with do not think the F-150 is capable of safely hauling a 5th wheel in our weight range. Any comments would be appreciated.

Stop thinking about โ€œpullingโ€ alone. Think about pin weight and payload first.

We pulled our first Durango 1500 32โ€™ fiver with a 250 and it was maxed out. Got airbags but it still was maxed out. Happier now with the 350 and a 35 footer.

Way too much for half ton anything.
Coming from a fully capable HD turbo diesel to that truck would have you hating yourself.

It might well pull a bumper pull that heavy but you have to consider the pin weight (2200 lb)as part of your payload. Your trailer is more than I want to haul with my 2500 ctd. I don't care what the Ford ads say, that is far too much for any F-150.
