I see you are planning to take I75 from Detroit all the way to Fl. Is I75 through Detroit open again? Last time I was thru there it was closed for about 20 miles due to bridge repair/construction. Wondering if it's back open again?

Will cross in Sarnia/Port Huron to get past that. When we came home from Texas in the spring we came home through Detroit and lots of construction. On the way to Texas went through Sarnia/Port Huron too.

We are coming down Nov 6. How is 231 in Alab and I10 thru the panhandle?

The panhandle is where the hurricane hit.

If you are coming from Illinois why don't you just take 65 to Birmingham and then take 20 east to 75. That is the route I used to take when I was snowbird.

Come on down, the weather is great!
The dreaded 90's days are finally long gone. Albeit I'm sure will have a couple more. :C

I would refer all out of state snowbirds coming down to Florida to google the Dept of Transportation in each of the cities they plan to be driving "thru and around the Florida panhandle" to get 'live' updates of the road conditions. There is also a DOT website for every state n the US.

Here is the link for the Federal FDOT.

Florida Traffic and Road Closure Information | Federal ...
https://www.fhwa.dot.gov/trafficinfo/fl.htm

Here is the contact info for the panhandle area.
District Three represents Florida's Panhandle
District Three Secretary
Phillip Gainer

Chipley, Florida 32428-0607

Come on down the weather and roads are just fine in the rest of Florida!

Thanks,

Noticed you are coming from Canada.
It Depends, WHERE are you picking up I-75?

If you are coming down from around the Ohio area, you are fine.
If you are coming down and then using I-10 or other roads "thru the panhandle coast line", THAT is where the hurricane hit.
