A pesar de que el 1 de enero de 2019 es la fecha límite para que la totalidad de las gasolineras en el país que venden diésel tengan este combustible de Ultra Bajo Azufre (UBA), ello no será posible, según el reporte que Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) ofreció a la industria automotriz.
El presidente de la Asociación Mexicana de la Industria Automotriz (AMIA), Eduardo Solís Sánchez, informó que hace unos días se reunió con el director general de Pemex, Carlos Treviño, y “al parecer no se han dado para ello esas inversiones, y no está en el programa de inversiones de este año”.
Explicó que de acuerdo con el programa de inversiones de Pemex, fue imposible programar las refinerías necesarias para producir ese tipo de diésel, y “por supuesto nosotros necesitamos inversiones en refinerías que nos permitan contar con diésel UBA para hacer la planeación y tener vehículos de esa calidad”.
A unos meses de que entre en vigor la Norma 044, señaló que en función de ello, ese es un programa que tendrá que reactivarse a través de una nueva refinería o una de las que ya se tienen para poder refinar ese combustible, porque “nosotros lo que necesitamos es diésel ultra bajo en azufre”.
Al respecto, el presiente de la Asociación Nacional de Productores de Autobuses, Camiones y Tractocamiones (ANPACT), Miguel Elizalde, dijo en declaraciones anteriores que de acuerdo con un estudio de campo que hizo el organismo en 323 estaciones, sólo 81% cuenta con diesel de Ultra Bajo Azufre.
Agregó que aun cuando se ha avanzado un 10% en la disponibildiad de este tipo de combustible, si se compara con estudios de campo de 2016 y 2017, sólo quedan unos meses y no se ha podido llegar al ciento por ciento, aunque ya hay otros competidores en el mercado.
Elizalde coincidió en que para que las empresas puedan introducir vehículos con nuevas tenologías, necesitan contar con el diésel correcto, por lo que “exigimos que la autoridad sólo permita comerciar diésel UBA a partir de enero de 2019, el cual se necesita para este tipo de unidades”.
“México sería el primer país en América Latina en hacer obligatorias las tecnologías que van a requerir de diésel Ultra Bajo Azufre”, lo cual se vería en riesgo de no haber el combustible necesario, indicó.
