Not exactly sure just which forum this would fit into.. Feel free to relocate to the proper site...

Here in Post Falls area I have seen a couple of 5th wheels that look like fulltimers. They have skirted with straw bales. Granted it should have a great R-value/insulation value but I am curious about that being a baven for some unwanted critters...

There are many people that stay in the north. Some like the cold, and others have moved for a job. There are also contract workers that are there for a specified amount of time and then will move to the next place. There is someone on one of the forums I read that moved to N Dakota in December for husband's new job. They were to be living in their rv. They are all full-time, just different kinds of full-time.

There may be a job, medical, etc. involved as to why they are there. The bales are excellent insulation but as you stated, a haven for critters and possible fire problem. A much better solution is blue insulation board from Lowes, Home Depot, etc.

That would exactly be my big concern. It would do a great job, but to me, would invite critters in.

If I had to skirt, I'd be looking at alternatives.

If they weren't fulltiming, they wouldn't have bothered with the bale skirting.

Not everyone who fulltimes moves to warm weather in the winter.

Remember, everyone fulltimes differently.
