Suggestions on routes from Las Vegas to Furnace Creek, DVNP

We're toying with the idea of taking the trailer down to DVNP next month and would like some opinions/suggestions on the route to take from Las Vegas to Death Valley. I am very familiar with the I-15 corridor to/from Los Angeles, having driven this dozens of times through the years. My initial thought was to just drive to Baker, then head north to Death Valley. However, it appears this would be the "long" way. 2 other options would be to drive through Pahrump or through Amargosa Valley, both of which I am completely unfamiliar with. I'm also curious about the viability of a road called Bell Vista Rd. that heads to the Park from just north of Pahrump. Anyone familiar with this road?

We are in no particular hurry. I realize that going through Baker would be a further drive, but on the other hand, I'm kind of partial to the marginally safer aspect of a drive for a bit on the divided I-15, as opposed to 2-lane highways. There is the tradeoff of a shorter drive utilizing undivided highways when going through Amargosa Valley or Pahrump. I do like that there are more amenities in Pahrump on the way to the Park, as opposed to AV and Baker. There are many things to weigh here, thus I am asking for help in deciding from the community. Thanks in advance for your input.

When visiting in 2014, we drove up US-95 from Las Vegas to Beatty, NV and camped there one night. We then took NV-374 west past Reyolite, NV and on into Death Valley NP. Once on the valley floor, we drove north on Scotty's Castle Rd to Mesquite Spring CG.
This is a boondocking campground. We went up to visit Scotty's Castle. Then we headed back down SC Road, and then picked up CA-190 until we got to Furnace Creek.

If you get up near Beatty, NV, you might like a visit to Reyolite ghost town. We found it very interesting.

We left DVNP via CA-190 and eventually turning south on CA-127. Going down CA-127 we got to Baker, CA and got on I-15 and headed to Los Angeles, CA, all the way to the beach at Dockweiler RV Park right on the Pacific Ocean, just south of the end of the runway at LAX. Took my trailer down I-15 thru Cajon Pass, to I-10 to I-605, to I-105 which turns into Imperial Hwy which ends at Dockweiler Beach.

Bell Vista road is good to go. You will have a fairly good pull after getting out of Sin City on Blue Diamond Highway. Called over the Hump to Pahrump.

Just for some quick info, while in Pahrump last year we took a ride out to Amargosa Valley Casino/RV Park as we were going to use that RV Park as our gateway to DV and the 49'er event which takes place in DV each year. Long story short...even though we didn't stay at the RV Park there, I can tell you that its relatively inexpensive(25.00 a night Full 50amp hook up) and fairly nice with a pool and spa and the Casino, although small has a couple of places to eat that aren't half bad! I know the turn off into DV was just down the road a piece.... just in case, for info only.

Yes, that road is fine. Google maps has it on Street View if you care to check it out.
