Just wondering if there is anything we are supposed to do or maybe good to do for upkeep of the weight distribution hitch? Also if they are not maintained does that affect their performance?

CHECK THE BOLTS!

A few years ago I found that two bolts had fallen out of my hitch. I upgraded to a Torklift Superhitch right after buying the truck.. It was the two rear-most bolts that fell out.

I'd re-torque the bolts too.

I touch mine up as needed with gloss black Rustoleum spray paint. Same with the receiver and trailer chassis. Lube lube spots with bearing grease or Mobil-1 5w-30. I like to keep em like new.
