Don't miss Vermont's "Northeast Kingdom"...Newport, Island Pond, Jay Peak area. The most rural area with lots of small villages with town greens and white churches. Newport has a wonderful small city campground right on international Lake Memphremagog, right on a bike path that you can ride into Canada. Lots of good restaurants and local music and breweries and farmer's markets.

We took a tour of a Maple Syrup farm when we explored New England. I don't remember where it was but found it interesting.

The whole area is beautiful. We went in the fall and learned that you better make reservations then due to "Leaf Peepers"
