New Vinyl Plank floor!

Well DW got tired of the cheap carpet and wanted something a bit easier to keep clean at the beach.
We found some nice vinyl plank flooring at HD, it is 4mm thick and is a click lock install.
The part I worried the most about was real easy. That was working. back into the kitchen.

This is what we used.

All the old flooring ripped out and all staples removed, ready to start.

Some things just work out! Just needed to trim grove off next plank at cabinet.

Kitchen filled in nicely!

Now looking for a nice piece of grey carpet for the slide out.

Needed to bring in slide about 6" to get the last pieces in place.

Used oak screen door trim from HD.

Oak trim

I ran the oak trim thru a table saw and took just the radius off one edge to sit flat on the floor.

Nice job! Some of the products available today are really pretty.

I personally hate carpet in a RV. Its a sand magnet for the beach and a mold magnet anywhere in the South or near water. And you can Never really get it clean. If you absolutely Must have some protection for those tender toes (like say on a cold winter floor), rugs are the way to go!

In the end thatโ€™s exactly right it was really not a big deal to glue down the dozen or so unglued tiles!

^^^^^ With a quality subfloor I would have glued down the whole floor.

Just about finished installing LVT in our 1998 Dutch Star. I didnโ€™t like the condition of the OSB so installed a new subfloor on top which is glued and screwed down .
The best price was for some cabinet grade Birch from Windsor Plywood.,itโ€™s is a little thicker than 1/8 inches. The LVT is about the same so combined about the same thickness as most of the Laminates that many people have installed.

The LVT is held in place around the edges by an adhesive that stays Tacky! Also used wherever the Slide out Rollers contact the finished floor! Every where else the Tiles 12X24 are loose laid .

So far so good and a vast improvement over the Old Carpet.. We did not do the slide but likely will do that next.

Great job with the restoration!

We did the same thing in our rig and has been the best decision we ever made.

I assumed it was NOT easy that is why I highly recommend "LVT" flooring that LOOKS the same but is glued/laid in strips and can be easily replaced one pc at a time. Many a Dental Clinic I built had LVT flooring and is VERY durable. Damage a pc simply rip it up and glue down another.

Our DRV has LVT flooring "Luxury Vinyl Tile".

BTW not being critical as it does look nice!!!

I assume it's a floating floor? How is it to remove one damaged piece and replace with a new one?

Depends on the location of the damaged piece! Near one side or the other somewhat easy, in the middle of the floor would need to take up about half.
The recommended install is to work from the tongue edge, but in the kitchen I needed to install five rows from the grove side, didn't seem any more difficult.
