Maybe a new Ford?

I had posted a month or so ago about trading in my 14 Ram 3500 DRW MC for a new 2019 Ram 2500. After I have driven a few Longhorn package trucks I just think the seat are not very comfortable. I didn’t think my current Ram drivers seat is that comfortable either. The truck is amazingly beautiful and has the best interior of any of the three currently in my opinion.
I test drove a new 2019 F250 King Ranch and I like it as well. Much more comfortable for me in the drivers seat. I may switch to the new Ford from owning my last three Rams.

Those with the new Fords how do you like them? I don’t want the F350 just the 250 since I want the smoother ride and towing under 15k. I don’t want to start a Ram vs Ford war because I believe both are amazing trucks.

Any suggestions?

I have a 2011 and now a 2017 F350 DRW. The only thing I don't like it is that on 2017 can't order one without sunroof, and on 4x2 it can't order with FW pucks.Other than that the truck is good.

The ole door sticker....most expensive option you can add to an otherwise good pickup truck!

Despite you being clear on a 250 vs 350 I echo the 350 bandwagon. Check some door stickers for payload just to be sure you're good. My old '02 350 had a comparable payload to the new 250s when I bought my '13. I was nearly over the truck's GVWR with the '02 with just a 30' fiver. Of course the choice is yours.

Only thing I don't like about the newest gen F250s is how the rear end tends to sag pretty easily with a load. I think Ford softened the springs for a better ride to compete with the coils sprung ride that Ram offers in their 2500 and by doing that, they made it pretty prone to squat.

I think more Ford's have been bagged than GM and Ram trucks. Seems standard fair for Ford's soft rear springs.

Every 350/450 I spoke to at DRV in 2016 had bags. New gens have a more substantial suspension.

It was hard going away from Ram and especially the 2019. I have found a 2019 F250 Platinum that I just have to have. I haven’t finished the deal yet but I’ll sent info and pictures when i get them.

Test drove one last night and was impressed. I would be very interested in what you can get them down to. Would also be interested in a best guess as to how much they lower the price as it gets closer to the 2020’s coming out.

Those massaging chairs are mighty nice.

I’ve owned FX4 Ford Trucks for years, many diesel. 2003,2006, 2007, 2016, 2018. All but one had lariat package and performed fine with no engine problems. Now have a 2018 Lariat DRW has 7,50 miles, all but 250 miles towing, and it is the most comfortable truck out of them all. No wondering in the steering and the seats are great. Not taking away from Ram because their interior is nice.

"The leather in the Longhorn is different than the Laramie. It is stiffer, but with time will loosen up after a break in period."

That is completely opposite of my experience owning a 11 and now a 15 LongHorn. The leather on the 15 is even more supple than the 11. I'm thinking you need to experiment with your seats as they are the MOST comfortable I have ever towed in hands down. I just double towed from Winnemucca, NV to NW WA in one day 13+ hours and 750 miles. Was not uncomfortable at all.

KingRanch friends have ridden in our truck and commented several times of how nice the leather was.

Thanks for the replies, I am fine with the F250 and not wanting the 350. I do love my Ram other then the rough ride and drivers seat.
I wasn’t going to buy anything but the New Ram but I decided to look at the F250 and on the test drive It made me love the seats and the ride was comparable to the new Ram. Yes the massage feature is very nice as well. I debating buying another MC vs CC but the Ford CC is larger then the Rams CC. The Ram Longhorn is priced the same as the King Ranch. I do like the 12” screen on the Ram but I like the panoramic sunroof of the Ford so it’s a tossup but my comfort wins.

Have a 2017 King Ranch and love it. If you can get the massaging seats, get them. Have no trouble with the seats, and really like the massaging seats when on a day long trip. Adaptive steering makes backing a trailer easier, cameras are great, and all of the other safety features. We test drove all the others before buying this one, no regrets.

they don't squat very much, mine is a different story as i removed the 4" blocks in installed 2" blocks to lower the back of my truck by 2" to level out my 5er - it squats about 2" when i load up my fifth wheel and have my two Honda generators, some fuel cans, a BBQ smoker and a few other odds and ends.
