This is not just a complaint for the sake of creating an arguement.
It is a serious question and I expect the courtesy of a serious answer.....and not just "we are working on it".

It would be very easy, trivial almost, for someone in your tech organization.....if you actually have such a thing......to arrange for the DNS lookup entries for ALL of the various portals to be re-directed to the ACTUAL SERVER, which I assume might be "forums.goodsamclub.com since it seems to be immune to the periodic and continuous problems that the other portals have.

WHY HAVEN'T YOU DONE THIS ?
I expect a serious answer.

Continuing to leave it in the mess it is......and has been for years.......is irresponsible.

Well, I'm sorry but the only answer is that they are working on it.
We are not the IT department and I have to follow protocol and submit the problem upstairs (so to speak)
We thought we had it fixed but alas, not yet.

There are problems off and on and they get fixed as they occur.
I will admit it's a pain but I did find a kinda fix for this one which is when that popup occurs, I just hit the F5 key once or twice and it goes away.

So....can I trust you to forward my question to them "upstairs" too ??

The suggestion needs to go to the actual people who do the IT work.

But people in your position can't be a road block to things like this either.

What I am suggesting has been common practice on the Internet for DECADES.
It is not something new and radical.
It is basic Internet Management 101.

Having worked in IT for over 35 years, I'd like to know what your IT divisions answer is to the above question. The F5 answer reminds of our tech that cured everything with reboot and defrag...

It appears to be fixed as far as my tests go.

drsteve, that is the kind of flippant answer that is driving many of the great contributors to this site away. Many of us are members of Good Sam and frequent Camping World, whose parent company is sponsoring this site. Our dues and purchases do pay for it, so for many of us it isn't free.

If a membership fee was installed, maybe $100 a year, it would weed out the complainers and also create a fund for repairing flaws in the system.

Since it appears to me that forums.goodsamclub.com is the most stable access portal to this site, that is the one I use. One thing to consider. The owner of this site might not be the owner of the domains where the other portals are and thus would not be able to update their DNS entries.
