there is nothing wrong with that P company. they took care of me when someone (on another motorcycle) rear ended me on my motorcycle. I also have the camper on a policy with them insured for replacement value. that rate does not seem that high. location makes a difference.

My 2013 Adventurer camper insurance with Progressive was $169 for 2018.
That is bundled with house and auto.

My rider is less than a $100/(yr.) on truck policy with AllState. I have it because some years I off-load camper more than usual. Judging by the News reports lately and your address in profile, I would definitely have good ins. Stay safe.

I'm in CO too, I pay like $10/month for my 2007 Lance 1131. It's an add on to the truck policy.

Here's my experience (all from last week).. I'm going to post in detail in hope that someone else can benefit from what I went through. I'm 48. Wife and I have perfect driving records. We do bump our coverage up to higher amounts liability wise. We run $1000/$1000 deductible.

I'm in Colorado - our rules are a bit different FWIW and a truck camper is NOT registered in Colorado.

The camper: 2019 Northern Lite Limited Edition with some upgrades - insured value $53,500

All quotes: Replacement Value (not ACV) - $53,500

Travelers wanted to treat it as a tow behind. I had 3 vehicles already with them and they wanted $1169/year additional for the Truck Camper. hahahahahahaha!

Safeco: Truck camper: $717.70 per year (if we move all vehicles to them).

Nationwide: $1162.94 for just the camper

Progressive: over $1000 more for the camper (they quoted everything but the premium was over $1000 more than what we pay for the current 3).

National General: $768/year just for the camper.

So then we called Geico....
We ended up moving ALL of our vehicles to Geico.
The camper premium is $24/month
(that is 5 years of replacement, years 5-8 - $53,500, after 8 years, ACV)

...and our premium went up overall like $18. (i.e. they saved us money on the other 3 vehicles).

the ONLY downside to Geico is they do NOT offer windshield coverage in Colorado - so we'll have to eat that (and we break lots of windshields due to the **** rock trucks in this area).

Hope this helps someone.

Ya it was Progressive. I used them for my previous RV. Didn't shop around but probably should. I have planned to get insurance all along. Just dragging my feet. I hate insurance but buy it for everything. I can shop it some over the next few days and see.

Wut?
Donโ€™t care if you werenโ€™t going to insure a new $40k camper. But scared into it?
Seems like a decision that either you do or donโ€™t, not based on the weather forecast.
P (top secret code word for Progressive, Pemco, .....) seems a bit spendy. Iโ€™d expect $3-400 based on the value and what we pay for similar value toys.

How many quotes did you get? Get several quotes and then you will know if "P"(whatever that is) is the cheapest or best.
