Who is going tent camping and where? I am going to Grand Isle, VT on Lake Champlain for 5 days. Then I go to Rogers Rock on Lake George, NY for 10 days. I haven't back packed in a few years but I am going to do an overnight into Pharoh Lake Wilderness area in between tent sites.

The tent-camping forum here is pretty dead. This place is more about RV's. Arguably it shouldn't be- there's a significant segment of us that have done (or still do) both.

I'm still thinking where to go. There are so many fantastic places and only 5 days available...This plan of yours sounds very exciting.

Grand Isle gets really booked on weekends so I booked during winter. I am retired and can pick my spots and book ahead. I always end up getting a family event scheduled during! This year two but I'm going camping. Rogers Rock usually has some sites available but I was able to be choosy by booking ahead. Adirondacks are beautiful and Vermont has some tremendous camping by lakes. Good luck!

Planning to go to Fort Yargo State Park in Winder, Georgia the 2nd week of July. Just purchased a Eureka Desert Canyon tent and plan to take both grandsons. It will be their first time camping. If all goes well, plan to take them camping in the north Georgia mountains before school starts. It has been several years since I camped at Vogel State Park and would like to go back.

I have an 8 foot cargo trailer I use for overnights. I just got back from camping at the Elks in Rockland, Maine. I visited the Farnsworth Museum and the Wyeth Museum. Recommend to any elks members. I saw a couple of tents there as well!

Sounds like a fun camping site. Hope to visit it one day.
