Well the guy doing 105 in my previous post International Speedway 696/96 in the NOVI area as I recall was where they were timing.

I-94 "I'm going to Chicago tomorrow (From Detroit) is there any construction?"

That's over 200 miles of freeway.. Just in Michigan. OF COURSE THERE IS CONSTRUCTION.. I can not tell you where it is however as I worked for MSP. not MDOT (Their web page can). Sometimes you can even see it for yourself michigan dot gov slash mdot

Yesterday for the 3rd time this year. I saw a truck in the ditch. (Semi)
First time the backup had cleared save for right beside it (or not started yet) and I exited just before it.. got back on just passed it. had breakfast in between (The plan by the way was to take that exit all along so it was not a problem)

The other two one was on S/B I-75 or I-69 (not sure which) I was going NORTH
The other on East bound I-69(yesterday) I was headed west.

I'm lucking out on these sleepy semi's.

We got off I75 onto I94 and after a while it as smooth as butter as in new. There was some construction somewhere but don't remember areas.
When we are in Michigan visiting her relatives and unable to wet a line for the third trip running, we generally have to endure, some I94 rougher than a plowed field. This time the ride, me in the passenger seat, I went to sleep.
For some reason half of this psot did not post so I redid it and left most out.

Why do we speed?

If we need to be somewhere at a specific time depart where you are with time to arrive at the destination without speeding.

Speeding is a juvenile attitude exhibiting the need to violate rules.

I travel by RV to avoid regimented schedules.

I'm not sure what "regimented schedules" have to do with speeding.

Why do we speed... There is a science fiction publican (Isaac Asimov's Science Ficion Magazine) that had or has a regular feature called "Probility Zero" Usually about 2 pages.

I still recall one of them.. This is the very short version.. The "Setting" is the same for the entire story but the time progresses.. Two researchers on a faster than light travel project commuting to/from work sharing a single car.

THey are talking about the problems and also the cars that pass them. Congress keeps raising the speed limit but someone always passes them like they are standing still

WHY. >Because AMERICANS have a GOD GIVEN RIGHT to speed (Folks I read this likey in the 1980's so ...)

Well one of 'em has a bright idea. They talk to Congress and the speed limit is raised again. of course the sign needs to be a bit bigger to hold the new speed limit (IN KPH it's 300,000,000 Kilometers per second) and 2 weeks later we had our first Faster Than Light car.. Because AMERICANS have a GOD GIVEN right to speed (IN case you don't know metrics that's the speed of light very very very slightly rounded up). (2.99999997 or somethign like that not sure of hte number of nines).

Home is where I park it.

Leave early enough to make your designated time of arrival.

Notice my first riposte'. No matter when you leave, you'll still spend more time on the road, in the car, behind the wheel when you drive slower than when you drive faster.

Our wonderful PA governor travels the PA Turnpike with a police escort. The cars are unmarked except for lights and they keep them on while the convoy of five vehicle travels at near 3 digits in the left lane. Yes, I saw it and had it on dashcam. When I contacted the governors office, of course there was no response.

Municipal agencies around these parts have gone with stealth / ghost markings.

All the lights hidden, graphics are very dark gray against black paint. Still counts as a marked vehicle.

Becoming common nation wide, the "ghost makings" make it a marked unit. Under statue to charge eluding, it has to be a marked unit. I was a motor cop a couple years and people would drive by and look back like was that a cop? KZ1000P 4 cylinder Kawasaki and our helmets were Gold/Green.
