Buying a new 2500 and then upgrading to a new 3500, depreciation could be a big hit. I bought a used 2014 2500 diesel in 2016. Sold it in 2018 for $1500 less than what I paid for it two years prior. That was to a dealer, not trade, just sold outright to the dealer.

So, depending on the config, and new/new vs used/new depreciation is not as big of a deal.

I think offering a srw 1 ton is silly. The 2500 should be sprung to carry what single wheels can carry and there is no need for a srw 3500.

You have a backwards, why have a lower rated 250/2500. If someone wants a grocery getter, then get the 150/1500.

I'm saying the 2500 should be sprung to carry what single wheels can carry and obviously rated to carry the same..... discontinue the 3500 srw. If someone wants a truck rated for 10,000 lbs the manufacturers could all do like Ford who offers a no charge 10,000 lb gvwr package for their srw f350 which consists of a different door post sticker. The difference between a 2500 and 3500 would then be pretty obvious .... dual wheels, heavier springs and a heavier payload.

Without the power of the internet, 90% of the armchair quarterbacks wouldn’t have a clue about any of this and there would be no fuel for the fire.......
Maybe we could get back to arguing pointlessly about brands of oil or something more relevant, lol....

When I went to assist with my buddy dropping off his new ram with a broken door handle a while back, he wanted to check out the new body style ram 1500 trucks. While walking a good portion of the lot, I didn't see a single 3500 SRW truck. There was about a dozen 3500 DRW trucks and the rest was 2500 trucks excluding 1500 trucks.

Funny coincidence, when I was helping my neighbor drop off his new Ford truck with a dash rattle, a broken driver's seat control, a broken power window motor and an intermittent buzz in the radio, I noticed the same thing at the Ford dealership.

Why no more 3.42?

Most likely a concession to the 68RFE transmission that has taller 1st and 2nd gears. The number of trucks sold with 68RFE probably out numbers Aisin trannied truck by 5 to 1 or more. Chris
