This rust agrument no one will win!!

Yep, Rams rust, Fords rust and GMs rust. Get over it kids.

If I were basing my purchase on the trucks I see with rust, I wouldn't buy any of them.

Okay. These are pretty well apple to apples.

2019 F250 XLT $69,000 vs $58,000 for the 2019 RAM Big Horn.

The Ram Big Horn is discounted $20,000. MRSP $78,000.
The Ford XLT is discounted $9,000. MRSP $78,000

So yes, they are applying some pretty deep discounts. Regardless of options and your wife likes both and you can get $20,000 off the list vs $9000, which would you choose?
..

Yeah, that's been the claim since the 1st of the year that RAM is using large discounts to buy sales to boost sales numbers. It does get attention, and more Rams on the road, but at the expense of profits. Will be interesting to see how long it can last and if it pays off in the long run. May be a brilliant ploy. May be disastrous financially. Time will tell.

Discounts or not, all are overpriced anyway.

In my view the sales numbers reflect the quality and value they offer. If I were buying today I would look hard at Ram. I have two neighbors with new Rams and they are nice trucks. Congratulations to Ram.

Given the price of new trucks and that I like mine as much now as the day I bought it I’m not going to be buying a new truck unless my needs change significantly.

Take it easy,
Stu

Neighbor has a 2011 F150. The bed started rotting at 5 years old with 60k. It's now 8 years old and looks terrible. I guess Ford is OK with their product looking like that on the road. And my wife's 13 Explorer has paint peeling off the aluminum hood as well as the rear door inner seems starting to rust!

I'm done with Fords at this point!,,,

gee, I have a 97 F350 with no rust and I live in Michigan. All depends on how you maintain it, how often you wash it and if you wash it off on the underside and wheel wells.

Rust never sleeps but you can mitigate it with proper care. I've seen just as many Mopars with rusted out wheel wells on the bed as I have Ford's and Chevy's.

Fluid film helps too. But you have to use it and wash it to make it last.

Nice comparison using your self proclaimed garage queen, never drive it in the winter, according to previous posts......

News flash. They ALL rust about the same, regardless of who's brand of underwear your wearing. Sidecar is right, it's a large part in how it's cared for. And a large part in how much/where/when you drive it.

How a positive post about Ram sales has turned into a sh*t show about which brand rusts less than others. Not surprised. [emoticon]
