we live in north east Ohio. We were looking at spending 3 or 4 nights somewhere about 2 to 3 hours away. Looked at Erie pa, Pittsburgh, and Cincinnati areas. Nothing seems to be open or returning calls or emails. I guess since there are so many of us the summertime is difficult. any ideas for something new?

We had significant difficulty getting into CGs from FL to NY this past month, and I'm not considering the holiday week. Perhaps RV sales truly are up and the number of CGs has remained fairly static. We have found a few that were available, but not places where we would have stayed. Just keep calling around till you find something. For example, we called for the 4th week and lucked out with a recent cancellation.

If you want to go on a weekend, it can be tough. We have found if you can go in on a Sunday ,then your chances of finding a site greatly improves.

I found 10 state parks in Ohio and 8 state parks in PA that have reservable sites for this weekend that are pet friendly and have AC.

They are probably recuperating from the past holiday weekend.

Same thing in California. Too many campers and too few campgrounds.
