That is about 3-4 mpg better than I am getting in my 2018 L5P and I doubt this engine is even broke in. The front looks good in that trim level.

I still can't get over the looks of this truck. Chevrolet will have to do a lot better to earn my business and my last Chevy truck was a 1992 and I didn't like the looks of that truck either.

Having said that GM may have raised the bar on fuel economy performance.

The other impressive part of the MPG on this video is the fact that there is about a 2000ft difference in elevation between Redmond OR and Loveland CO. Obviously ups and downs in between but overall it is an uphill drive. It will be interesting to find out if the 24 mpg is doable on some of our mountain highways where the speed limit is 55-65.

The High Country def looks better in the front than the Chevy worded one. Be interesting to see what figures come up for towing. All big 3 have lots of "thrills and do-dads" which can be mind boggling, but $$$$ if something goes south. $76k for a SRW truck? Man I bought a '86 GMC w 6.2 L for 13K then a '91 GMC for 24K. Man !!!

In 1986 13,000 is equivalent to 29,784 today.

In 1986 24,000 is equivalent to 44,247 today.

Those trucks were pricey back then.

I will give you 10 bucks for the 6.2

Average price of a new vehicle right now is 36,500.

Average age of a vehicle is just over 11 years old.

I don't think that price is off base for what you get.

And if you hooked both the old trucks together, theyโ€™d pull about half as much as the new one, so $ per pound towing capacity is a wash and he comfort and high tech goodies come for free!
