Starting next month dialing yo or from Mexico will change. No more 01,045 044 or inserting a 1 after the country code Perhaps someone will post the new instructions. Moisheh
I feel like I've been living on the phone lately, calling 800 type numbers in the US. So far, they have been very cheap, but remember-it's not 800, it's a different code for each of the "free," 800 series numbers. I just plug into Google what the area code is I want, and it tells me. 800 is 880.
Calling from Mexico to the US you still need the 00-1-(area code)-number otherwise just the 10 local numbers for calls within Mexico, and all 800 US numbers are charged as toll calls again use the 00-1-800-number, some of the toll charges can be outrageously expensive.
The Federal Institute of Telecommunications approved the changes so that the numbering and dialing of fixed and mobile telephony is only 10 digits; will enter into force on August 3, 2019
As well as 044, used to call a national mobile phone in the โcalling party paysโ mode , the 045 prefix will also disappear , used to dial national long distance from a landline to a cell phone with national numbers.
The digits 01 will also be dismissed -for calls to Non-Geographic Numbers and national long distance calls, and the 1st in international long distance calls to mobile phones under โThe caller paysโ
End result? Just dial the 10 digit phone number with no added prefixes.
