Problem Resolved with Fantastic Vent Fan Lift Arm Mechanism

I noticed a problem with opening the Fantastic Vent Fan (Dometic) lid the day we brought our new Lance camper home last winter. But I forgot about it until we used the camper for the first time last week.

The lid would open about 1/3 and then the handle became hard to turn to the point of locking up. I could stick a small wire thru the screen and push the lid up a little and then I could turn the handle until it was fully open.

I sent Dometic an email and got a quick next-day response from Shelley. I told her I had already taken it apart and the lift arm mechanism gears were binding up. She said she would get a warranty replacement part headed my way today.

A lot of manufactures are very slow to answer email and just provide canned answers when they do. That was NOT the case here. Dometic was very responsive and helpful.

Fantastic used to have lifetime warranty on everything.
Now, when Dometic took over, I had to pay for new motor.

I had a similar experience with the handle coming loose. I e-mailed the company and they immediately sent me a new handle, which solved the problem. I was impressed with the service.
