Replace the tank...

You'd have to disassemble the halves of the tank to get to the burner tube, and by that time, the labor would exceed what it takes to get a new tank.

PEX itself won't be susceptible to freeze damage, but the fittings are, particularly at a low point where water might have collected.

I know Atwood has a different tank material from Suburban so it does not need an anode in the drain plug. Hers has that plastic plug for an Atwood. I don't have the model number, but it does have 120v and propane. Trailer is about 10 years old. More later if required. Be a few days.

Atwood Aluminum'
Suburban STEEL Tank...which has a glss-lining sprayed inside hence the andoe rod requirement

Trailer 10 yrs old and is combo electric/gas

If 6 gallon.....GC6A-10E Model
If 10 gallon....GC10A-4E Model

Replacement tanks available for each
NEW complete water heater replacement available

I have a line on a GC6A-7E from a 98 Southwind Class A. Would that fit in the hole in the side of the TT her GC6A-10E goes into? Lots of room inside the TT where the WH goes, so it is just the access in the side of the TT that matters AFAIK. Thanks.

Cut out openings

6 gallon
12 1/2"H X 16"W X 19 1/2"D

10 gallon
15 1/2"H X 16"W X 20 3/4"D

6 for 6 and 10 for 10

Her newer version can be replaced by the earlier version
AC side needs 120V AC to on/off switch then to separate set of T-stat/ECO on backside of water heater tank then to element
OEM ON/OFF is also back there

DC side for propane....12VDC to On/Off switch then to thermal fuse to t-stat (then OEM wiring to control board to eco to gas valve)

I removed a HWH that was froze solid! Looked like a beach ball!
Had to pull it out thru the back of a bookcase! Would not fit thru the opening. If it was indeed frozen i bet it did more than just crack.
Replace it!

Yes, I should know more in a few days. I watched the 46 minute youtube mentioned earlier, yipes! I am hoping for a swap out of the whole thing, but it still looks like quite a chore.

Turns out the one in the 98 Southwind is a G6A-8E 6.2 US Gal, and the busted one in the 08 TT is a G6A-8E 6.0 US Gal according to their stickers.

Those are gas only. A "C" in the model number is for "combination gas and AC electric"
