One good option near Helen GA is Don Carter State Park. Itโ€™s about 20 miles away but it is a nice park and relatively new. Long & level sites.

I did a short review at Don Carter Review

Important to note:
Don Carter is approximately 40-45 minutes minimum drive time from Helen. Construction traffic on US 129 has made it longer.

Unicoi State Park is less than 3 miles from Helen and takes less than 5 minutes drive time.

Another vote for Unicoi State Park. It's only a few minutes to Helen.

Unicoi State Park has a loop with full hookups, not sure about the amps though.

They do have 50A sites on the FHU loop at Unicoi. Problem will likely be availability. I think thereโ€™s only maybe 10-12 of those sites and they book up fast. Also, I would not pull in there with a rig much bigger than 35/36 feet OAL.

I've seen a big rig on the site nearest the office. I wouldn't take anything farther up the hill; the turns are rather tight.

If you can get in, it's very handy to Helen. Also there's an Ingles supermarket just south in Cleveland. You aren't thinking of coming down US-129 are you?

We stayed at Horseshoe Trails near Cleveland. Our friends go every year and they like Cherokee RV but it was farther away than Horseshoe.

HERE I know you can get through but maybe a little tight. Check out Rose Creek campgrounds in Franklin NC just north of Helen. A small off the beaten path gem.
