AC/ Stabilizers/ F.Cap wax - need your thoughts

Hey all, starting my end of season maintenance.
I can't afford my AC to fail while away, we camp in the Carolinas in the summer. Thinking of replacing it even though the current one is still working. Would upgrading to 15000 BTU from 13500 be worth it and a strait swap?

Cleaned my front cap today with Orange hand cleaner. It turned out well, can't remember it looking so good. it shines but feel it needs a wax or polish. Whats the secret trick for making front caps look great ?

My Lippert stabilizer jacks have been sketchy from the start. They are power front and back. The back motor had brush issues from the start, occasionally needs a whack while energized to wake up. Front has been better but now appears to have a stripped gear box. Replacement motors are about $300+ each, i fear they won't be better quality. I can manually use them, i even welded a nut to the back and use the drill with a socket. Still i like thing working properly. Do i buy the same again ?

Happy to hear everyones thoughts ?

A 15K unit is about $75 more than a 13.5K. I would get the 15K. It is a direct replacement.

My Lippert stabilizers have a motor shaft pin that drives the long screw. That may be your issue rather than the motor gearbox, I replaced it with a spiral pin, a regular roll pin couldn't handle the force and also sheared. I prefer the jacks that I had on 3 SunnyBrook TTs that I would run with a battery powered electric drill. Much faster than the slow Lipperts.

Thx Wayne,
I will pull the motor apart and investigate the pin. Good thought.
As mentioned my drill is doing the job fine, i just like thing working correctly.

Appreciated.

If my AC needs were critical not just a very annoying failure, I would invest in a second AC. Two being less likely to fail at the same time. However, a loss of power and all bets are off.

There are smart phone temperature warnings devices on the market.

I have BAL manual scissor jacks that I put up and down with a 20V Dewalt drill. Very fast and simple. My son has electric stab jacks that take just as long to get set as mine and mine will be working long after his have gone Phhht! due to some glitch.
I would just convert all to manual and be done with it.
There is no guarantee that a new AC will last any longer than your present one. However, a 15k unit will cool better than the 13.5k.

powered stab jacks?

id replace them with heavier manual ones and use a cordless drill with a socket(dont forget to take the charger!!)

i can set my 4 stab jacks in a couple of minutes, longest part of that job is walking around the trailer
