A few camphead friends were thinking about visiting the Big E in 2020. I know its dry camping which we are all used to, but I'm just wondering if things have changed since 2012?? Has anyone been there recently to advised us on the conditions? or any other advise or maybe to camp in a local RV Park in the area, thanks.

Hello, I went to Jr. High School right across the river from the Big E in Agawam. What type of rig do you have. What kind of services do you need. How far are you willing to travel daily to/from. It is an awesome fair, highlighting the New England states. Something for everyone. When I was a young kid, my mom worked for the accounting department. One of her tasks was to collect the cash & receipts from the rides and concessions. I got to ride on all the rides while she worked. I get nauseous just thinking about it.

^ That’s a nice shot of the Big E early in her service life. Pre-1980 anyway, as she has her original island with the SCANFAR radar array on top.

A new Gerald R. Ford-class carrier, CVN-80, is under construction now, and will be the ninth US Naval vessel the bear the name Enterprise. It should be in operation by 2027.

I saw it in Bremerton at PSNS getting retrofitted for the above.

No, Norfolk, Virginia. November 10, 2001.

My son was aboard, although he was on duty at the time I took the picture and wasn’t one of the sailors manning the rails.

That was the deployment when Enterprise reached her top speed, which is still classified, but she outran her escorts. :C

Pretty much every house on the streets adjacent to the fairgrounds sells parking ($5-20/day, depending on distance), I'll bet you could work a deal with most of them to park a camper and even get a water and extension cord plug in if you asked for a modest price. They tend to be pretty entrepreneurial!

I vote for TheBigE it's local to people in Long Island NY, and it was just in the news since it was 9/18-10/4 and now they are talking about next year

Here is some info I found in web about camping there, it might be old info.

Been living on Long Island my whole life and camping for 30 years, Never heard of it.
