Batteries(new) supply power sporadically

We have a 2010 Itasca Suncrusier on a W22 WORKHORSE chassis. We had new coach and chassis batteries installed in July. The coach worked fine then all of a sudden there was no battery power to the coach. We decided to take a short trip last week w/o 12v power. No problem on trip to the campground. When we started home I started the coach to put in slides and jacks up with no problem. I turned off coach to unhook utilities, etc. Went to start the coach to leave and there was no battery power at all. After about 10 minutes trying to figure something out all of a sudden both the coach and chassis batteries began to work. Got home fine and parked the coach in our driveway. After a few days went out to move the coach and there was no battery power again. After a few minutes the batteries kicked in and the coach started right up. Anyone got a clue what's going on with the battery power???

Ground cables for both starting and house batteries are sometimes
attached at one place , likely the frame .
A bad connection there can cause a problem for both circuits .
I would find where the ground cables attach to the frame , clean
until you see bright metal then tighten good .

Sounds like dirty battery connections. Disconnect negative battery cable first. Clean the post and connector with a small wire brush. Disconnect positive battery cable and clean post and connector with a small wire brush. Add a small amount of battery terminal grease to the posts and connectors. Install the positive cable first and then the negative. Repeat for every battery. If you have the type of connectors that pinch the battery cable under a plate to make connection to the connector, you also have to remove the wire from the connector, clean, and grease.

Orrr, take it back to the installer and have them clean the terminals and add grease before reassembly.

DVM is a digital volt meter. Every RV owner should have one and know how to use it.
It will also help you understand your 12 volt and 120 volt systems

What kind of batteries, Flooded cell? Did you ever charge them to full capacity once installed?
If flooded cell did you check levels in batteries?

You're very brave to start a trip with no battery power. :W

A bad/loose wire/connection or auto reset CB are possibilities. Are the batteries being charged on shore power? From your description both banks have issues - right?

Head directly to HF, buy a $5 DVM, learn how to use it and be prepared to use it the next time. Or hold up your credit card.
