The Silverado did extremely well with the exception of brake applications compared to the Ram Ecodiesel. Just a reminder that the Chevy has a exhaust brake and the Ram doesn't.

So an in-line six makes for a pretty good Diesel engine arrangement. Who knew?

Next thing Ford will be inventing “architecture” (for an engine not a building) with pushrods 🙂

I can hold back without brake applications on most any grade without brake applications. 30-35mph on a LONG 14% grade locked in 2nd. I am smarter than the computer!!!

They run what the manufacturer gives them. They attempt to test fairly as much as possible. No test is 100% apples to apples because trucks are different ie ex brake versus none. Weather changes etc. I think they do a pretty impressive job with the testing all things considered. It’s not lab conditions it’s real world.

Funny how the last two truck test these guys have done, neither truck would down shift. Two complete different engines and transmissions. I've had many many trucks and never had one that wouldn't downshift. Also testing in very cold conditions doesn't tell it all. Why didn't they get the 4wd if it has a higher tow rating? I don't know about these guys. Also why not shift manually like anyone of us would have done? I kind think there're Bozos.

I would agree in watching that the exhaust brake isnt dialed in well enough yet, only one less brake application than the Ram and Ford which dont have a Ebrake. I used to complain about their testing methods too. I've decided there's nothing wrong with it. They're letting the vehicle make the towing decisions instead of themselves. Most vehicles would improve with manual intervention at certain points.
