The Silverado did extremely well with the exception of brake applications compared to the Ram Ecodiesel. Just a reminder that the Chevy has a exhaust brake and the Ram doesn't.

Enjoy...

I think when they tested the EcoDiesel, it was towing significantly more weight.

Don't know why they can't keep the weights the same to make a more accurate comparison.

In any case, that I6 Duramax seems like it performs very well. Time will tell if it was an engineering success or failure.

I know they're trying to do these test equally between all makes but it would have been interesting to see what happens if he manually downshifted - if that's posssible.

Yes this was supposed to be the Super Ike which means they tow the max rating of the truck. I don't know the specs but it sounds like the Ram Eco Diesel has a higher tow rating than the Chevy Duramax.

Seems possible to have gone down a couple of gears and this is what most drivers would do for sure. Test don't show everything.

I used to complain about their testing methods too. I've decided there's nothing wrong with it. They're letting the vehicle make the towing decisions instead of themselves. Most vehicles would improve with manual intervention at certain points.

I find these very entertaining. The real question is, when are we going to see the ford 7.3 big block go up the hill with a full load? I can’t wait!

X2. We have a couple of them on order at work and I’m looking forward to trying them out.
