Ok. I have always, including in the army,I think, put my belt on, into the loops left side irst and and to the right side, with the end of the belt facing left. Someone told me I was putting it on backards. It is supposed to go on left side first and round to the front. he said. So that the belt end is facing right and overlaps in the same direction as pants and shirt.
Which is it?

I put mine on with the end facing towards my left. But then I'm probably not the person you want to consult on fashion...

Just wear suspenders and you won't need the belt [emoticon] I start mine to my left finishing with the buckle facing my right and belt end facing my left.

If you’re left handed it’s the other way round. Think about it.

If I start to my right won't that make my name on the back of my belt and my big belt buckle will be upside down. Or it will make my belt inside out [emoticon]

As said, some of my belt buckles would be upside down if the free end was on the left. Other buckles wouldn't matter though...

As I recall I go left to right but I put the belt on the trousers before I put the trousers on.

Frankly.. My official position is: Whichever way you are more comfortable with.

Home is where I park it.

It depends on whether I am coming or going.

Most days I don't know which I am doing, though.

I go with the belt buckle argument. I do have some fancy ones (for weddings and funerals) and they would be upside down if I started the belt on the right. But hey, they would be easier for me to read (assuming I could see them at all).
