Our last night in the RV was there, 18 months ago. Since then we checked in because they were interested in our cargo trailer. We suspect that they will always be open, with their layout and caring, it's super RV and dog friendly. Loads of space to exercise your pets and play.

Although we are beach people, we have always loved Tepic. This park is a little piece of paradise in a major capital city. They have great hookups, and showers. It was the one place that we used their showers instead of ours because we could shower together.

The city its self has very cheap taxis, all of the major grocery stores and several interesting museums.

As a plus, this is where the Huichol come to sell their wares!!!! The beaded and yarn work is unbelievable. There are two government sponsored stores, one in the Municipal Palace and one, maybe three blocks away in the Zocalo. There is also, off of the Zocalo, an alley that is government sponsored where they can come in from the hills and sell their things.

We pursused custom work throught the DIF office in the Municipal Palace and found that they absolutely loved having us drop pieces off to have custom beaded. We'd drop them off on the way south and pick them up on the way north. The prices were absolutely ridiculous, and the work, GREAT!!! If you want to know whom to talk to, and photos, please say so.

Tepic also sits at the apex between the highlands of Guadalajara and the coast. This leads to amazing weather. We have had great thunder and lightning events at Los Pinos only to pull out and have hail on the highway!

Can you tell we love Tepic? Couldn't live there, no beach, but we always spent a couple of nights there, usually all by ourselves.

We have had repairs done there through the years, and have always been very happy, especially since they allow work to be done on site. Body work, trans cooler, imiportant stuff.

We tend to eat a lot more in than out, but the restaurants, and they change regularly, in front of Los Pinos change regularly and have all been very good. Better yet, walk over, order and they deliver to your rig!!!

There is also an OXXO right in front, perfect for the morning fancy coffee. Our dogs loved to walk down with us and get rewarded with the fig bars. As far as we know, only OXXO has great fig bars in Mexico!

It was open when we passed through Tepic last January, we checked it out just to know what to expect in case we needed to stay there on our return trip, but we did not stay there. Nice and quiet place, for an RV campground.
