Hi, we're planning a trip to Yellowstone this Summer and are curious where you all have parked your TT's for your visits?

Thanks
Brian

We stayed in Buffalo Crossing RV park and it was great. Only thing we didn't like about staying in West Yellowstone was that it takes so long to get to everything on the east side of the park. But it was still nice and cheaper than in the park. We've also stayed in Fishing Bridge and Grant Village campgrounds. All were decent, but Grant Village didn't have hookups.

Take note that the east side of the north loop (main loop road) is closed till 2022. Somewhere near tower falls. You can find the information on the national park website

Several places at West Yellowstone. We stayed there at the Buffalo Crossing RV Park. It's just outside the west entrance to the park.

We like Bakers Hole. Itโ€™s about 5 miles north of west Yellowstone and has water @
electric but not sewer. Several sites are on the river and it really roomy.

Grizzly RV in West Yellowstone. Excellent place. Two minutes from the west entrance. Walking distance to everything in town.

There are some great campgrounds(in fact 10 or 12) within the Park that help one really experience the wild of Yellowstone with large animals hanging out near and sometimes even on your site. I would miss not being in the Park if at a nearby private campground. BUT. no hook-ups except for Fishing Bridge which may be down for renovation. About half of the Park campgrounds are reserveable and the others not. We like Mammoth, Madison and Bridge bay.

Both KOA's are taking reservations right now and filling up quickly.
Go to KOA.com to reserve online.

Sorry, we're looking for full hookups

Either One of the KOAs in / near West Glacier. There's two. The one closer to the city of West Glacier is the nicer of the two, it's more like what you'd expect a KOA to be.

If you want to be in the park, there's Fishing Bridge RV campground, which has full hookups.

Neither KOA is open right now so it's probably impossible to make reservations.

When I went to park in 2006, we booked Fishing bridge about a year in advance.

Reservations are must due to the amount of visitors the park gets.
West Glacier is a long, long drive to Yellowstone. West Yellowstone, not so much. You can make reservations for both the KOAs near West Yellowstone even though the parks are closed. Don't know for sure if they are answering or returning phone calls, but the online system is available year round.

Grizzly is not next to grizzly bear and wolf sanctuary. The one next to it is Buffalo Crossing. Grizzly is about four blocks away.
Make reservations early as better parks fill up early in season!

X2 for Grizzly which is next door to a grizzly bear and wolf sanctuary. Get up close and personal with a wolf separated by a chain link fence is unnerving...and take the tour buses.
