you can take 26 from Moran Junction to Riverton and then up to Shoshoni to 20 and on to Casper from there. There's a mountain pass east of Moran Junction, but nothing scary. About what you'll cross going east out of Yellowstone Park.

Fine but look out for wildlife and domestic animals on the road. Sometimes there are whole herds of them.

It's a nice road with lots of curves, bends and elevation changes but never anything challenging.

U.S. Highway 20 is a major route and the longest road in the United States...3365 miles! No issues IMO.
