I was reading in the AARP magazine that the us government is talking about limiting the use of the senior passes at high use times. Has anyone heard about that?

What isn’t being considered within the three branches of the U.S. government? Besides, why should you and I pay less than a hard working family?

It's just one of many talking points being considered for increasing national park funding...

I would be OK with using my pass only on weekdays in very high-use parks. In fact, I usually avoid public campgrounds on weekends anyway.

Really! You paid at most $80 for your lifetime free/discount pass to our National Parks.
I got mine for $10 or $20 it has been a while since I bought it.
I usually donate to a park I visit if I see the opportunity to do so.
Operating our National Park System is costly, they need to make adjustments.

I can not say nice things about our current government. I've not heard that purposeful but I do not doubt it.

When My wife and I Visited Grand Canyon the very nice person told us about the pass $10 bucks and we got in free. would have cost more just to drive in without the pass so we saved money at the get-go.

When my wife (Who was a tad older than I) died I qualified for my own pass so I walked into the park office, handed the worker 10 bucks and my driver's license and she handed me a pass (And returned the DL) I'm told our legislators decided to up the price to what 80 bucks now.

And now they want to restrict the use......

There are two things we can do about it. .Write/Call/Contact our legislators and explain our Pleasure over this added cost.

Two VOTE.

Home is where I park it.

I think I paid 10.00 for mine but 80.00 would still have been a bargain. We haven't been to many NP but have saved more than the cost just in COE sites. Wish I could get a 80.00 pass for Disney world or Universal Studio, although it would likely be 80.00 a day [emoticon]
