There are two things we can do about it. .Write/Call/Contact our legislators and explain our Pleasure over this added cost.

Two VOTE.

I would like to add a 3rd, and likely just as important "To do"; After you contact your rep, pay attention! Keep track of how they vote when can vote for your interest, and just as important, how often they block a vote that could be in your interest.
Then armed with this info, instead of the ads, VOTE!

This would be a great argument when the social security checks equal that of a hard working family.

Don't restrict this to "our current government." When the previous administration had a shut-down, the President directed that all parks be closed, even those without gates or rangers. They actually roped off portions of DC on NPS land. There is video of that instruction. He said he wanted to make it hurt to make a point.

Yes, but to me there is a big difference make everybody hurt/make a point not to close the ones that put money in your pocket.
Or try to close the areas to people that want to assemble to address grievances with the government.

Yes, us old farts are getting in at free or reduced rates depending on which card we have and even getting a break on camping fees, but it's like going to the movies - we're spending tons of money in the parks on other things.

I stay at some COE parks on a regular basis. I don't know how they can afford to maintain them so well. The Senior pass is a bargain at any price. If they restrict it I don't care. Not going to complain. If I can't afford it I will stay home.

I was reading in the AARP magazine that the us government is talking about limiting the use of the senior passes at high use times. Has anyone heard about that?

I paid a lot of full-price fees and 59 years of taxes, over the years. Giving older citizens a break when they reach a period where we are, mostly, on fixed incomes, seems fair. I have had a Golden Age Pass for 15 years and really don't get much of a chance to use it, given where I live and my advanced age.

I hope you all someday get to take advantage of this benefit you deserve.

Perhaps because I, and maybe you, have already paid our fair share and more for over 80 years.

Typical of gov to sell you something then reneg once they have your cash.
That said, the last place I want to be is some place that needs restricting the tourists somehow. So no effect on me personally.
