Looking at a 2019 F350 XLT 6.7 dually with 3.55 gears looking for feed back on this set up towing 11K or more up hill and all around towing.
Sorry should have said we are looking at a toy hauler with an empty weight of 15K. In the next year or two.

Thanks

I was quite comfortable towing a 30,000 lb gooseneck with my 2011 f350 SRW. The 2017 has a much better exhaust brake and does a better job on the long downgrades.

Thanks for all the replies just wanted to here some feedback from actual owners of trucks with the same set up towing, I know Ford says the truck will pull 27K but wanted to here it from truck owner not truck salesman.

Realistically what is the heaviest RV you will be towing. TT or 5er?

If 14k 5er or less stick to a LongBed 350/3500 SRW. Any more the 350/3500 DRW is the ticket!

NOT a Ford Diesel guy but follow those numbers and you will be happy!

Exactly what he said.

However, I am a Ford guy. LOL

I just sold my 17 F350 dual King Ranch diesel with the 3.55 e locker. It was flawless towing my 16K fifth wheel. The only warranty issue with the leaking valve stems which was a problem with the 17 duals. We towed in the Rockies numerous times and never an issue.

I have a 2012 F350 6.7 3.55 that doesn't have as much power as the newer models. And it tows my ~12,500 lb high profile 5er with no problem, whether in cruise and 6th gear at ~1,800 rpm at 68-70 mph across the flatlands, or climbing mountain passes in Colorado.

^ Or even over 15k as the OP edited.
Youโ€™re good with 3.55s and a 10 speed anywhere, all day.
See the other thread, fun reading about gearing!

No modern 1T with a diesel is going to have any problem with an 11K trailer.
Enjoy!
