I've been using a Link 10 battery monitor since the late 90s when I had one in a cargo trailer I used as my mini RV. When I upgraded to a 21SW Desert Fox toy hauler in 2003, I moved the Link 10 to it. When I downsized to my AF 811 truck camper in 2009 and sold the DF, I moved the Link 10 again.

The Link 10 has been flawless. It works fine. I decided to replace it with a Victron BMV-712 because it has Bluetooth capabilities with a smart phone / table app called Victron Connect. (an app from Victron)

I've been using a BMV-712 in my Nash 17k all of 2019 and really like it, so I decided my AF 811 needed one too.
In the Nash, I have a plethora of other Victron gadegtry: 2000 watt inverter and their CCGX control panel.

Here's my HOW TO video for installing it.

Installing the BMV-712 is a lot easier than the Link 10 because it uses a different style cable between the meter and the shunt.

2015 Nash 17k (bought pre-owned 5/23/18)

It sure is. Every RV group I frequent is all about the Victron products. It took a lot of long / hard thought to decide replace my Link 10. I've always been a die hard Heart Interface / Xantrex guy because I have owned them forever and used to work for Heart back in the 90s.
I will keep my Xantrex PS2.0 and the remote panel shown in the video.
The Xantrex inverter is the only unit that will fit in the available mounting space I have in my AF 811.

Nice video, I had installed my Victron 712/BT smart battery monitor two days ago. I did have a lot of trouble in getting the blue tooth to connect, since I was installing a lithium battery there's a number of setting that have to be changed so the Victron 712/BT knows its reading a lithium battery.

I kept the original door so I can put everything back to stock when I sell the camper. 10 years later, I still have this camper.
