Actually a Remington 1911 .45 ACP. Because I'm too lazy to take a 2nd shot.[emoticon]

Accurate data and facts.......or propaganda and "adjusted" data?

Long term economic stability? Remind me where socialism has worked in the history of civilization?

Just to stay on topic, this is not the first time there has been unrest in the middle east. It will pass, until the next crisis. Meanwhile, I am glad we have an ample supply of oil right here in N America thanks to new technology being put to use.

Is that the Vietnam era Colt 1911?

Love the original WWII vintage Colt 1911 even if it's mechanism is so loose that it's noisier than a baby rattler.

I think it was made 76-78. Gold Cup National Match “Colt’s MK IV/ SERIES 70”

It was my father in laws. Mint when I got it. Sent a few thousand rounds thru it.

Back to the OP's concern about the price of oil. Don't be too worried. This latest gesture is all a part of what Orwell predicted:
"The war is not meant to be won, it is meant to be continuous."

Oh yeah, it's the favorite of combat/practical shooter!

It's a keeper -- don't ever part with it, even if your father-in-law would want it back and will disinherit you if you don't.
