Waco to Harlingen TX

We are looking for a good route from Waco to Harlingen that will avoid the Austin traffic. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks for your replies

We have taken this route many times. Agree 100%.

77 will take you past Austin and San Antonio. The speed limit on 77 is 70 most of the way. You do have to slow down for the small towns. I get there faster taking 77 because you avoid all the traffic jams in Austin & San Antonio. It is a nice easy drive and has plenty of large gas stations along the route that accommodate RVs and travel trailers.

We didn't have any issues coming down 77.
